Application Creation and Delivery
The delivery of applications to a considerable range of different mobile handsets in the market is a key challenge facing the mobile industry today.
With its wave On-Demand Mobile Application Platform, weComm has delivered the market-leading solution for the delivery of applications precisely tailored to each user's device and network.
There are three key stages for creating and delivering services with wave:
- Design and Creation
A new service can be turned from concept to reality in hours using the wave Studio™ tools. wave Studio provides access, via the wave toolbox, to a library of content and application components ranging from video, music and news feeds to fully configurable interactivity and advertising.
Using trusted components reduces the time taken to create new applications, or add functionality to existing services, and minimise test cycles by reusing robust and proven elements.
- Application Transformation and Delivery
The wave Publisher™ provides the server-side intelligence necessary to adapt and manage the delivery of content and interactive services natively to the wide range of supported client devices.
A key aspect of this is the ability of wave to transform not only the content but the very structure of an application according to a number of important parameters such as the profile of the user's device, the connectivity available to the current session (using weComm's monitoring of network condition and capability) and the user's own preferences.
By transforming an application in real-time, users are guaranteed to obtain the experience most appropriate to their current circumstances as their network, connection or device changes.
- Deployment to the Device
The resulting wave service is deployed into the wave Explorer which resides on the device and executes the wave service scripts. The wave Explorer and wave scripts together are equivalent to a native downloadable application.
The wave Explorer follows a browser paradigm in that it can access and run any application hosted on the wave Publisher. This means that once wave Explorer is loaded on a device, applications and services may be deployed instantly to that device with no further downloads, installation or configuration.
In addition, wave Explorer can access multiple applications that are hosted on wave Publisher with instant switching between them.
